Vardenafil is a medication classified as a phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitor (PDE5). Its primary function is to relax the smooth muscles in the penis, which allows for increased blood flow through the penile blood vessels. As a result, this improved blood circulation leads to a firm and sustained erection, facilitating sexual intercourse.

Vardenafil and Levitra share the same active ingredient. Vardenafil is the generic version of the brand-name drug, Levitra. Both medications are used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) by relaxing penile muscles, allowing improved blood flow and facilitating better erections. While the original “Levitra” is no longer available, pharmacies now dispense generic Vardenafil as a suitable alternative.
The drug acts with the presence of sexual stimulation approximately 30 minutes after taking the dose.
Vardenafil remains in the body for around 4-5 hours. A maximum of one tablet can be taken every 24 hours.
