Hepatitis B is a viral infection that can damage the liver. Unlike hepatitis A, it is typically transmitted through bodily fluids, such as blood, or contaminated needles, leading to inflammation and potentially severe liver damage.

The main causes are Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) which  spreads through contact with infectious body fluids, such as blood, semen, vaginal fluids or shared needles and exposure to infected blood.

Hepatitis B can cause a range of flu like symptoms as well as jaundice. It can become chronic and lead to liver damage and failure.
